joshua was born on April 18, 2000, in Daegu, South Korea. When he was five years old, his family moved to Los Angeles, California, where he attended school and learned English. In 2010, joshua’s father passed away, after which he and his mother moved back to South Korea.
In 2012, joshua auditioned for SM Entertainment’s global auditions in Los Angeles and was accepted as a trainee. He moved to Seoul and began training in dance, singing, and acting. In 2016, he made his debut as a member of NCT U with the single “The 7th Sense”.
Since then, joshua has gone on to release several more singles and albums with NCT U and NCT 127. He has also appeared on various TV shows and reality programs. In 2019, he made his solo debut with the mini album “Famous”.
